WOOT WOOT!! Yesterday morning I received the much awaited call from our Childrens Hospital asking us to come in for a Ketogenic Diet consult that afternoon! Can you believe it.......8 months of waiting and we are finally here! YAYYYYY! We're sooo praying that this will work! Praise Jesus that we are getting this started. We have been praying that we would have the chance to try this treatment before we meet the new neurologist in January, and this is such an answer to prayer, because it will either help, or be crossed off our list as a treatment option. Josiah starts this Ketogenic diet next week.....so in the meantime, daddy is happy to ensure that Josiah gets all the candy, pop and chip eating out of his system....as its something he most likely wont be having for a while!!! So, today I ordered the Ketogenic Diet book which we need to read before next week....yikes! And, then Josiah has to have a slew of tests.....bloodwork, ecg, eeg, etc to make sure all of his organs etc. are functioning properly and can handle what he is about to go through!! On another note, Josiah is trying out a walker now to try and give him some independence in public locations.....conveniently, it came at a perfect time, because over the last few weeks, he has been having a ton more random seizures, and while the helmet protects his head, it doesn't do anything to protect his other body parts...poor little guy. So this walker stops him from falling to the ground, thus....less bruises and outchies! We brought him shopping in it last weekend, and it was like we opened up a whole new world for him. When we strapped him in and let him go free, he was sooo excited....rolling down the aisles beside us saying "wheeeeeee" the whole time. He's so cute! Anyways.......More updates to come, we"ll keep posting as we go!
